The project summary
***********************
S.O.S Europe will take place in Guardamar del Segura, from 4th to 12th September of 2018 with 41 participants from 6 different countries: Norway, Malta, Portugal, Turkey, Romania and Spain.
The exchange is targeted at participants of both genders, in the age range of 18-30 years old. They should preferably come from rural areas, obviously any immigrant can participate, themselves, be interested in improving citizen participation in achieving social inclusion of immigrant populations, be empathetic and supportive, able to work in a team and have adequate personal experience on the topic in order to be able to contribute to the group. In order to develop this project, during 9 days, we are going to develop workshops,
activities, lectures, debates, cultural games and icebreakers, presentations, simulation games, meetings, entertainment, exhibitions, group dynamics, cultural traditional night and lots of different activities that will shape the exchange will be developed in Guardamar del Segura, village close to Alicante.
All the planned activities will have as maximum early use based on non-formal education methods, teamwork, active participation, exchange of ideas, removing barriers, multiculturalism, social inclusion and respect for the other to get a memorable and development beneficial to all parties involved on it. In addition to these activities, there will be city tours in which participants will have the opportunity to enjoy a bit our country,
tradition and culture.
We are almost certain that the exchange will meet the targets and thereby get a big impact at different levels:
On a personal level, the results and impact will be visible in each of the persons involved in the project. Every day, with workshops and activities proposed, there will be a growing awareness and reflections derived from it, we will make some brainstormings to generate various interesting discussions in which everyone can contribute something while learning. Apart from the personal level, it will generate a "blast" within the inner circle to each of these people at the moment to get back home where friends, family, acquaintances, etc. will be the first to those the reflections during these days will arrive. With this, they also will become multipliers within this impact. We hope that in the member associations and local environmental entities, the impact of such partnerships is large enough to allow generating a possible second part of the project, hand of one of the partners, derived inspiration from participants to take part S.O.S Europe and preferably as an initiative of some of the participants of our exchange, something that would make us see that we have achieved the desired impact at the level we seek.
Each of the partners of S.O.S Europe project, we believe in the short-term benefits generated by the project, but what they are really looking for long-term benefits. The long-term benefits, starting with the simplest, could simply be creating new projects of social integration and inclusion, carried out by any of the associations involved in this exchange, although the ideal, what we all want, thanks to the expansion of contacts and the generation of synergies arising from such exchanges, would create a consolidated inclusion projects for disabled people, through which increasingly could expand more and more on the field of action, starting with small local projects and go up on “new steps” for generating a real national plan for inclusion.
